New York Fossils

New York Fossils
By Corey Lablans

Last summer I was collecting fossils in Fort Erie, along with a knowledgeable group, I believe it was the Niagara Peninsula Geological Society. One of the individuals (forget his name) just finished collecting fossils in the state of New York. He had a wide variety of fossils: Gastropods, Brachiopods, Horn Corals and many more. He gave me a few samples, which I finally got around to photographing the other day.

Nanticonema lineata (Gastropod) - Windom shale of the Moscow formation, Lakeview, New York

Favosites (Coral) - Centerfield member of the Ludloville formation, East Bethany, New York
Cystiphylloides (Coral) - Centerfield member of the Ludloville formation, East Bethany, New York
Athyris spiriferoides (Brachiopod) - Windom shale of the Moscow formation, Lakeview, New York
THANK YOU
